The Kogi State High Court of Justice is led by the Honourable Chief Judge and supported by a distinguished bench of judges. Together, they embody the values of integrity, independence, and impartiality, ensuring that justice is delivered fairly and efficiently across all divisions of the state.
Since its establishment in 1991, the Court has grown from four divisions to 23 judicial divisions with judges presiding over civil, criminal, and constitutional matters, supported by magistrates, area courts, and specialized courts at the grassroots level.
At the head of the judiciary is the Honourable Chief Judge of Kogi State, currently Hon. Justice Josiah Joe Majebi, who was confirmed in March 2023. Under his leadership, the judiciary has seen reforms in accountability, infrastructural expansion, the establishment of additional courts, and modernization through e-services.
The Chief Judge provides judicial direction, ensures compliance with constitutional provisions, and represents the judiciary in its dealings with the executive, legislature, and wider society.
