The Kogi State Sharia Court of Appeal is led by the Honourable Grand Kadi and supported by a distinguished panel of Kadis who bring vast legal knowledge, judicial experience, and dedication to the administration of justice under Islamic law. These esteemed jurists are appointed in accordance with the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, upon the recommendation of the Judicial Service Commission and the National Judicial Council.

Each Kadi serves with a commitment to fairness, impartiality, and integrity, ensuring that all matters brought before the Court are resolved in line with the Qur’an, Sunnah, and other recognized sources of Sharia jurisprudence. Collectively, they form the judicial backbone of the Court, shaping the interpretation of Islamic law in Kogi State and safeguarding the rights of citizens under its jurisdiction.

The Court currently has ten (10) Kadis in addition to the Grand Kadi. They preside over appellate and original jurisdiction cases, deliver well-reasoned judgments, and work closely with the Court’s registries to make justice accessible across the state.
