The High Court of Kogi State was established in 1991 following the creation of the state. It derives its existence under Section 270(1) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended) and its jurisdiction under Section 272(1).<\/p>

To achieve efficiency in justice delivery, the High Court operates a Directorate System comprising 16 Directorates, each headed by either a Deputy Chief Registrar (DCR) or a Director, depending on the area of responsibility. This structure ensures that both judicial and administrative functions are properly managed by professionals in their fields.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t

The Chief Registrar<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The Chief Registrar is the Administrative Head and the Chief Accounting Officer of the High Court. He performs the statutory duties of the office under the directives of the Honourable Chief Judge, who is the Head of Court, Head of the Judicial Arm of Government, and Chairman of the Judicial Service Commission.<\/p>

The Chief Registrar is assisted by all the Directorate Heads and other sectional heads. Together, they form the Personnel Management Board (PMB) of the High Court, which is responsible for all staff matters. The Secretary of the Judicial Service Commission serves as an observer on the PMB, ensuring that Judicial Service Guidelines and Regulations are strictly followed in all administrative matters.<\/p>
